sugarloaf inn
a northeast icon, reopened and reimagined
Sugarloaf is Maine’s most iconic ski mountain, one of the largest ski areas east of the Rockies and a cornerstone of New England winter culture. The Sugarloaf Inn is its oldest building — the original base lodge, eventually converted to condos, and brought back to life as the only non-mountain owned slopeside lodging. Despite keeping the historic name, this was an entirely new identity built from the ground up. The creative direction was clear: retro ski hotel, rooted in the mountain’s history. The system included logos, iconography, color, typography, and extensive web build that honored it’s rich history. A standout element was a set of custom gondola icons recreated from the original 1960s gondola cars.
