Mainely Custard is a homemade custard shop in Freeport, Maine — one of my favorite projects because it didn’t have to take itself seriously. “Mainely” is a pun deeply embedded in Maine culture, used everywhere from restaurants to road signs. The logo was designed in the shape of the state, leaning into that with intention. The system was built from the ground up — logo, iconography, color, typography, and packaging — all carrying the same lighthearted spirit as the shop itself.
